ENCOURAGE EXPRESSION
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, Sunday morning meetings in the Royal Rehab Clive Austin Conference Room, 235 Morrison Road, RYDE. NSW 2112 are closed until further notice.
The Church of the Good Shepherd is an all age (intergenerational) and non-denominational church, meaning all ages worship together. In our Sunday celebrations, we encourage free expression in worship through music, movement, dance and banners, as well as hearing a life-giving message from the Word of God (the Bible).
CONNECT WITH GOD AND EACH OTHER
Hubs are held every Wednesday in different homes. As an intergenerational church, we value every member and see that for a family to truly be a family, it should embrace people of all ages and backgrounds. We hold to the biblical truth (Ephesians 4:12) that everyone is called to be a minister, regardless of age, intellect or ability. Everyone has an important part to play in the ‘work’ of the ministry in whatever form that ‘work’ may take.
The hubs are an ideal place to help achieve this and are made up of people of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities.
We worship, pray, learn from the Bible and each other, while keeping our focus on those who have not yet found the Truth. We believe these groups allow us to better connect with God and with each other.
If you are interested in coming along to a Hub, please email cogs@idx.com.au
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the Son of God.
In His Virgin Birth:
“How will this be,” Mary asked the Angel, “since I am a virgin?” The Angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.” (Luke 1:34, 35)
In His Crucifixion:
...But we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles. (1 Corinthians 1:23)
Look, the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. (1 John 1:29)
In His Resurrection:
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given to us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. (1 Peter 1:3)
Jesus is our Saviour:
Salvation is found in no-one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
You must be ‘Born Again’:
Jesus answered, ‘I tell you the truth, unless a man is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God.‘ (John 3:3)
In Water Baptism By Immersion:
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the Name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. (Matthew 16:19, 20)
In Baptism in the Holy Spirit:
After baptising the Ephesian disciples in water, Paul laid his hands upon them and the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. (Acts 19:1-7)
In His Ascension and His Return:
...This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven. (Acts 1:11)
In Repentance:
Repent then and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out... (Acts 3:19)
In the Lord’s Supper:
For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. (1 Corinthians 11:26)
In the Word of God:
All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)
In Healing the sick:
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)
PRAYER IS THE ENGINE ROOM
PRAYER ALWAYS HAS AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE THE ENGINE ROOM OF THE CHURCH OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD.
We pray six mornings a week from 5:30 am to 6:30 am. The focus of this meeting is not just on ourselves but for the needs of others. We pray for the community around us, the city we live in and our nation. Once a month, our focus shifts to praying for other nations.
If you have something you would like us to pray for, please email cogs@idx.com.au and we will add it to the list of things that are prayed for daily.
We would also like to hear your stories of answered prayer. If you previously asked us to pray for you we would like to hear back from you.
TRANSFORM A NATION
NIGHTWATCH IS A PRAYER AND WORSHIP TIME FOR THE TRANSFORMATION OF SYDNEY AND AUSTRALIA.
This meeting is open to everyone who has a heart to pray for the transformation of our nation. It is held on the fourth Friday of every month from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am. Tea and coffee are provided throughout the night. Please feel free to invite others along.

WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN?
Put simply, Christians are people who have realised that their life means nothing if they don't have God in it!
They are people who have realised that God is the Creator of the universe and have decided to live their lives in acknowledgement that He knows best how they should live. Christians also know that how they live in this life will determine how they end up living their life after death. Yes, there is a heaven and a hell. That is clearly explained in the Bible, the book inspired by God and written thousands of years ago.
God is our Creator and knows everything about us. The Bible tells us that. It also explains the possibility of having a one on one relationship with Him through His son Jesus. This is what Christians have, a genuine relationship with the Creator of the universe.
If you want to become a Christian you must first accept that you can't make it in this life on your own and that you were not supposed to. You were made to live with God, not only as a friend but having Him as number one in your life.
Then in realising that this is how you should have been living, you say sorry to God for not living the right way and ask Him to forgive you. Christians call talking to God — praying.
From there you decide that with God's help, you'll always try to live the way He intended you to.
Having taken these steps, the only way you will learn how you are supposed to live is by reading the Bible and meeting regularly with other Christians.
If you want to become a Christian, there is a simple prayer you can pray.
God, I am sorry that I have not lived my life the way I was created to live it. Please forgive me. I want to change things from now on. I want to live with you as number one in my life. Please help me to do that starting from now.
If you would like to know more about being a Christian, or you just said the prayer, please email us at cogs@idx.com.au
BUILDING GOD’S HOUSE
The next stage of The Church of the Good Shepherd and Kingdom Living Ministries is an exciting time, especially for the next generation of our church.
There is a history to be worked out and walked out, by the next generation. This is their time to embrace the future of their Church—praying for, believing for and investing in a new architecturally designed building, to achieve their Kingdom dreams and visions to the Glory of God.
